Ottimo affare

If you canât be bothered reading the rest of this and just want the summary, here you go: donât be worried about buying refurbished, my iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen I just received is grade a.Ok so firstly, Iâm not going to do much in the way of a review of the iPad itself, Iâm going to focus on the fact that itâs a refurbished model as I presume thatâs what people will be interested in.Moving from a 10.5â iPad Pro there are a couple of differences I would call out that Iâm getting used to. The main one of these is face vs fingerprint. My iPad is typically led on the desk as I use it to take notes with the pencil, unlocking with my finger was definitely easier than face because the iPad wouldnât be naturally lined up to my face when on a desk. The form factor is really nice, the squared off edges feel good and the speakers are pretty damn impressive for something this slim.So thatâs enough about what an iPad is like, on to the refurb component of this. I was skeptical. So skeptical in fact that I had bought another brand new iPad at the same time (slightly rushed Black Friday purchased, got sucked in by an offer). I saw this and thought for £300 less I had to give it a try. One would remain my beloved iPad and one would be navigating its way back through amazons vast logistics network. Needless to say the new iPad never even got opened. For those also skeptical about this and thinking that I may be the kind of person that would accept some decent levels of scuffs, etc for £300 off, a little about me. Iâm a gadget person, will pay a premium for nice gadgets and insist on keeping them mint. My last iPad Pro has been with me a solid 18+ months, lived in a full cover case all its life with a screen protector so that the Apple Pencil doesnât scratch the screen. Itâs still spotless to this day and if that changed I would sulk for days. All of the original boxes are safely stored somewhere in the house also. Hopefully you’re picking up on the gadget love here.Comes well packed in a plain brown cardboard box, well protected even seemed to have the same sticky cover thing on that comes with a new iPad. No Apple box though but that was expected. The charger is a third party usb-c, again expected. Not too concerned around this as it will typically be a usb-c to usb-c cable I would use as will charge from my MacBook Pro. It would have just been yet another Apple charger that got safely stored somewhere else.So far so good. Thereâs also the warranty card in there to fill in for your one year, 3rd party warranty. All done in 5 mins with no issues. Then the big moment. Peeling back the stick on protective sheet, fearing the worst and….. exhale. The examination of this pristinely cleaned iPad Pro begins.Screen. Immaculate, not a mark on it.Edges. No scuffs, nicks, nothing. Perfect.Buttons. All click away perfectly, feels like its their first time. The back. The space is flawless, not a mark. Rotating the device in my hands to makes the chrome Apple logo shine I spot a small scratch on the chromed Apple logo. Itâs no width at all but about 2cm long and is only visible at a certain angle. I can easily live with this.£300 off for this one little scuff on the softest, most scratchable part of the iPad, thatâs only visible in certain light, would be hidden in case or under a skin and would likely be something Iâd do myself? Yes please. Thatâs basically an Apple Pencil and keyboard folio paid for.Iâd say give it a try, Iâm sure others will come with other less than new bits and pieces and marks and scuffs but the returns policy is pretty clear and from what Iâve seen even the most gadget-precious person will be happy.

Bought this through Amazon renewed. Was like new, no marks. Tested the battery with imazing and had never done a full cycle so clearly minimally if ever used. Saved £500 over a new one and cannot tell difference (other then comes in generic packaging). I could gave bought a brand new Ipad Air for same price bur very glad I didnât. Did buy the extended Amazon warranty. Also got the Logitech cover which has a light up keyboard and is great too.

Iâm always a little nervous when purchasing a refurbished product, but Iâve had pretty good luck on Amazon so far. Hereâs my experience with my new-to-me iPad to help anyone who may be skeptical or afraid to pull the trigger on this purchase. Hereâs what to expect. As for condition? The iPad I received came in very good cosmetic shape, with only a few minor scratches on the screen, but unfortunately there was one very deep scratch that is about half an inch long that I can see even when the display is on. It is pretty easy to get past and only noticeable when you are very close to the screen. The aluminum enclosure is in near perfect condition and looks very close to brand-new. There may be a very tiny nick here and there, but nothing that is easily spotted or a cause of concern. Battery life for me may be slightly degraded from when it was straight out of the box, but iPads have awesome battery life for pretty much any situation, so it still lasts a very long time. And also note that the updated iPad Pros that released in 2018 charge with a USB-C cable. This means a standard Apple lightning connector will not work.I have been through a ton of what this iPad can do and it works beautifully for all Iâve asked from it. The display is phenomenal. 12.9 inches from corner to corner, which is a joy to work on. Thereâs plenty of room to work, study, and play. Watching movies and shows is also a fantastic experience being all-screen. Even 4 years later in late-2022, this thing is speedy quick and packs plenty of performance for your day-to-day tasks. It doesnât skip a beat and Apple is still providing software updates for it as well. The camera is also very clear for a tablet and offers great performance for what it is.So far, Iâd say this is an incredible deal on such a powerful device that feels like it will have no problem powering into the future for many more years to come.UPDATE: (10 Months Later) AUG 2023 – We are almost at a year now of the ârefurbedâ iPad Pro and itâs still one heck of a performer with no issues or slow down to speak of. It just got updated to the new iPadOS 14 public beta so itâs still got a ton of life left software-wise. It does so much that even after so long with it, Iâm STILL finding more things it does that I never knew it could⦠Iâm still going to âdaily-driveâ it for as long as it lets me as it has done everything Iâve asked of it and more. Since it is nearly 5 years old though, the battery likely needs to be replaced. Iâm still getting great battery life as I only have to charge it maybe once every 2-3 days with mild to moderate use. With heavy use, I still bet you could get over a full day out of it easily. I find it very strange that you can find your battery health on iPhone and Apple Watch, but itâs non-existent on the iPad. At an Apple Store, the 12.9 inch Pro (3rd Gen) requires an estimated $119 service fee for a new battery. Thatâs a lot, so be prepared if you plan to ride it out for as long as you can.To sum it all up, if I wouldâve known Iâd have such a positive experience with this iPad being refurbished and all, I wouldnât have been even the slightest bit nervous to purchase and would no problem do it again. Every experience with a refurbished product will be different. But if you go in with low expectations, you might just end up with a gem that exceeds them in every way possible. Just make sure youâre getting the 90-day Amazon Renewed Guarantee and use it to your hearts content within that period to make sure itâs the one for you!
